 Our Goal is to educate those who attend a field trip to our Ranch. We will tailor the field trip according to the age of the participants. Field trips/Group Tours to our ranch usually consist of the following:

•  A brief but necessary discussion of our ranch rules.

l       Introduction to the wonderful world of alpaca's. This will include a brief description of the alpaca, where they come from and their likes and dislikes.

l       Hands on introduction to alpaca fiber and a “Wet Felting” project (when time allows during Field Trips) for Group Tours.

l       Snack and drink in the barn for each person in attendance.

l       Question and Answer session in the barn.

l       Going out into the paddocks and meeting the alpacas and feeding them apples, carrots or grain. (provided by Monaco Pines). 

Each participant will receive at least one of the following when the Field Trip/Group Tour concludes: 

l       One Alpaca Bookmark.

l       A square of felt that you made here at the ranch.

l       1 small ziplock bag containing a raw alpaca fiber sample

l       Alpaca Activity Worksheet 

If participants would like their picture taken with an alpaca, by the Monaco Pines staff with a Digital camera, each participant will need to bring a self-addressed and stamped envelope along with you on the field trip. Monaco Pines will take the picture, have it developed and put in the mail to you. 

Please be sure your group knows to wear long pants and CLOSED-TOE shoes. Participants will not be allowed to participate in the feeding of the animals, or walking in the lanes or paddock areas without closed toe shoes. 

Cost for the Field Trip is $2.50 per person. The Field Trip is approx. 1 - 1 1/2 hours long.

Cost for the Group Tours is $5.00 per person. The Group Tour is approx. 3 hours long.

Cost for photograph taken with an alpaca during the field trip is $1.50
